Organizing Your Home and Life

Staging Homes

Posted on: June 2, 2009

Home sales are down.  A lot of foreclosures are going on around us and the average sales prices of a home is down in the double digits.   To top it all off, credit is hard to get in this weakened economy.  This has made for a bad home selling environment.  This means that it is harder to sell your home right now.  If you need or want to sell your house in this climate, you are going to want to attract buyers.  Since there is so much inventory out there, you will want to make your house stand out ahead of everyone else.

One of the ways to do this is to stage your home.  Home staging means many different things.  It can mean painting, changing the look or appearance, or organizing or cleaning up.  I love to organize and clean and I feel it is really important to make good first impressions.  For me, personally, decluttering and organizing helps me to create a peaceful environment whether it is working or at home.

It’s extremely important, especially if you want to “WOW” the buyers that first step foot into your home, to have your house give a good first impression. It will set the tone if your buyer will want to come back or be interested in the rest of the house.  How do you feel when you walk into a cluttered home particularly if it is one you are looking to buy?  People don’t want to look at other people’s messes.

Decluttering and organizing is the perfect solution because without having to spend much money you can create a really nice and beautiful home that people will want to walk into and maybe even buy.
